Ocimum basilicum.  A classic heirloom basil with deep purple leaves and a rich, aromatic, slightly sweet flavour. Excellent for pesto, fresh use, and culinary garnishes. Plants are productive and benefit from regular harvesting; pinch growing tips to encourage bushy growth.

Approx. 100 seeds per packet (0.13g)

Sow seeds indoors 6-8 weeks before last spring frost. Plant seeds 1/8" deep. Seeds will emerge in 5-10 days. Transplant to garden after danger of last frost has passed. Be sure to harden off before planting in the garden. When transplanting, allow for 6-12" between plants and 12" between rows.
