A classic storage cabbage producing large, dense heads with deep purple-red leaves. Cold-hardy and slow to bolt, with a crisp texture and rich flavour that improves after frost. Excellent for fresh eating, cooking, fermenting, and long-term storage. Performs reliably in cool climates.

Start seeds indoors 4–6 weeks before last frost, or direct sow in early spring. Sow seeds ¼" deep. Transplant or thin seedlings to 18–24" apart in rows 24–36" apart. Seedlings emerge in 7–14 days. Harden off before transplanting into the garden.
