Alcea rosea. A captivating variety known for its 6-8 feet tall stature, sturdy stems, and double peach-colored blooms. Ideal for natural screens against fences and walls, it attracts butterflies and bees, adding both beauty and ecological vitality to outdoor spaces. Hollyhocks are typically biennials, producing foliage in the first year and tall flower spikes in the second year, but readily self-seed and exhibit perennial-like characteristics in the garden.

Start indoors 6-8 weeks before last frost date, or sow seeds directly in the garden in spring. Surface sow, and press into soil. It is important to space plants 18-24" apart to allow for adequate air flow, as Hollyhocks are prone to fungal rust. Seeds germinate in 14-21 days.
