Beautiful chest-high plants with giant bright mauve-pink petals surrounding a distinctive large centre cone that bloom from July to October. Also known as Purple Coneflower.

Shallowly sow seeds directly in the garden in early spring. Seeds emerge in 10-21 days. If started indoors 8-10 weeks before last spring frost, Echinacea may bloom in its first year. Magnificent blooms occur in years 2 and 3. Seeds benefit from cold stratification - place them in the fridge over winter.
