Burdock root is a powerful medicinal herb with a long list of benefits that balances the whole system. It is a biennial - the root is harvested in the first year when plants produce large, 2' basal leaves. If left to flower in its second year, plants are decorated with bee-loving velcro-like flowers.

Seeds germinate easily in 7-14 days and do best directly sown in the garden in spring. Seeds can be sown in rows similar to other taproot vegetables. Space plants 18" apart: leaves grow quite large.
