Field Pennycress
Annual
Full sun
Thlaspi arvense. Bright green leaves form a low leafy cluster at the base. Small white flowers bloom in early June, followed by heart-shaped seed pods that can catch the sun and resemble shiny coins. Fast-growing, easy to grow, attracts pollinators, and works well as a low-maintenance groundcover.
Approx. 200 seeds per packet (0.2g)
Shallowly sow seeds directly in the garden in early spring. Seeds emerge in 10–21 days. Seeds benefit from cold stratification—place them in the fridge over winter. Thin seedlings to 6–12″ apart.
